Bemerkung

The texts

The French and German texts (from «Histoire du Soldat» and «Pierrot Lunaire»), which appear under some of the instrumental parts, do not have to be spoken in a human voice, but should contribute to the articulation of the corresponding instrumental parts. The «speaking rhythm» should be realized with molto rubato. In the small solo cadenza on page 7 (Chlebnikov*), the percussionist is free in rhythm and articulation as in the instrumentation, but it is not a «free improvisation». He/she should follow every word of the text and not play for longer than one minute.

In the string instruments all the harmonics should be played as indicated. Sound and intonation are intended by the composer.

There are no individual parts. If you are playing from sheets, please do not turn the pages in silent breaks.

*Applies to the text version in Russian language
(Versions in other languages are available, please contact Roland Moser)
